I was blessed to be able to give birth three times and each time it was a unique and transforming event. When I became a mother, it was the most amazing and difficult thing I had ever done. I didn’t have a doula with any of my births, but once I learned what doulas do, I was intrigued. What a wonderful job that would be! I kept feeling the tug on my heart to take a doula training and in June 2012, I began my journey to becoming a doula, certified through Birth Arts International. I think one of the big reasons that I love this work so much is that it ties so closely into my calling as a mother. As a doula, I “mother” families through the birth process and during the postpartum period. It is sacred work and I am honored to serve the families that choose me to walk alongside them.
In addition to my role as a doula, I am the wife to my amazing and supportive husband, and mama to my three amazing kiddos. I love reading good books, binge watching TV shows, laughing with friends, and playing with my dog. I’m originally from Virginia, but I am now so happy to call Charlotte, NC home.
